Crystals form in Nature

Crystals form in nature by two different processes. Since we can't cool lava or magma, we decided to grow crystals through evaporation.

Right Foot Graphing

Sixth grade students worked in groups to measure, analyze, calculate, and graph (plot and bar) statistical descriptions of a physical characteristic of a population. Students individually gathered data of each group to graph out class statistics.

Frog Hypothesizes

The 7th grade students in Ms. Northover's science class are learning about the Scientific Method. They hypothesized that the larger frogs would jump farther on average than the smaller frogs. Students had fun measuring the distance of the frog jumps and experimenting with the frogs to prove their hypothesis!

How many drops of water can a coin hold?

6th grade science applied the steps of the Scientific Method in forming a hypothesis that predicted how many drops of water would fit on a penny, nickel, and dime. Students learned how many drops fit on a adding one drop at a time.

Spaghetti Towers

Eighth grade math students were challenged to construct  a free standing spaghetti tower. The team's structure must stand on its own for measuring. Each team measured their tower from the floor to the top of the marshmallow.
